Muru was born in Siivikkala, in the kennel of Namupalan, on the 15th of October 2002.
The breeder of Muru is Satu Korkeakallio. Muru is the dam of two litters: Namupalan Hot
and KipazinK.
Just now Muru is our only leonberger. Muru is a real sweetie (the Finnish word muru
means either a small piece or sweetie). Muru is cheerful, gentle and has nerves as steel,
she is obedient and easy to handle. On top of that all Muru can "the language of dogs"
excellently. It is quite rarely you can meet a dog, who has such a skill to handle
different kind of situations with different kind of dogs (or other animals): Muru can
handle the little, shy and timid dogs as well as the big and furious ones. Muru has
always the situation well in her "hands" (or should I say in her paws), even the difficult
ones. Muru has a splendid sence of how things are and what she needs to do in that kind
of situation. Muru never asks for trouble. She is very, very kind and friendly, sometimes
maybe even too friendly I think.
There is no lack of speed, when Muru is in merry or playful mood, but Muru can very
well calm down when needed. If I think about Muru as a mother she is calm, motherly and careful.
What is the weak point of Muru, is there any. Of course there is, everybody has her / his
weak points, there is no perfect dog, I think. But I must say, that the weak point of
Muru is only a bad habit so I'm jointly guilty of that weak point of Muru. If we can
not let Muru meet visitors, one reason or other, who are coming to us, Muru will vent
her indignation on barking with a high-pitched voice. And she is able to continue the barking
during a very, very long time, even all the length of the visitor's stay. But because
all at once I can not find any other weak points from Muru, I think, that I can allow
her that one bad habbit.
